About the trust
NI Music Therapy Trust provides music therapy and related services for people across Northern Ireland.
Who we are
Music therapy is an established psychological clinical intervention and an allied health profession. It is delivered by registered music therapists who are educated to Master's level and regulated by the HCPC.
Our therapists are trained to tune into each movement, reaction, and expression of the people they work with, helping them enrich their lives, unlock memories, communicate where words have failed, build confidence, and connect with family and friends.
The charity began in 1990 as the Northern Ireland Music Therapy Trust and has grown into a regional organisation supporting children, young people, adults, families, schools, care settings, and partner organisations.
Every child, young person, and adult in Northern Ireland should receive the level of music therapy service that meets their needs.
Promote understanding, establish and manage a regional service, provide education, and support research into music therapy.
Excellence, accessibility, transparency, evidence, impact, person-centred practice, and teamwork guide how we serve.
